THE STORY OF BYPKDESIGNS

My name is Patrick Kok, and I am the founder and owner of Bypkdesigns. Bypkdesigns was born out of my desire for more creative freedom as a graphic designer and photographer. Through Bypkdesigns, I specialise in creating designs of various types and scales, including posters, flyers, and mobile app layouts. Additionally, I enjoy capturing portraits and street photos. While Bypkdesigns primarily emphasises commissioned design projects and the sale of designs, rather than photography.

Bypkdesigns is built on two concepts that form the foundation of everything we do and deliver: storytelling and experience design. Storytelling focuses on conveying messages through graphic design. In practice, this means that each design tells its own story or, together with other elements, narrates an overarching story using unique features or a central theme. For example, the visual style of Bypkdesigns is crafted like a detective case file, with various visual elements designed as if you are studying a detective's file. Through storytelling, I aim to create designs that are unique and more vibrant than standard designs, effectively conveying the message to the viewer or user.

The second concept, experience design, enhances this by allowing the viewer to fully engage with a design, focusing on immersion and interaction. This is particularly evident in website and mobile app designs, as seen on the Bypkdesigns website, where various animations create an engaging experience. Experience design can also be seen in other forms, such as unique elements added to a design, like interactive information boards or books with removable components.
